Subjects about brain and intelligence has always interested humanity. Throughout history, medical experts and biologists dealing with the positive sciences, as well as sociologists and psychologists dealing with the social sciences have been curious about the concepts related to intelligence and memory and they have always conducted research. Concepts related to intelligence and memory have taken their place as a style of expression not only in these branches of science, but also in all other branches of science. Mathematics teachers stated that their students who are good in mathematics lessons are intelligent, and literature teachers also stated that their students who are good in literature are intelligent. However, this did not make the experts feel discouraged, but it motivated them to conduct more research. Consequently, learning techniques have been put forward. Experts who put forward learning techniques stated that students comprehend some of the things they see, some of the things they hear, and they comprehend more of the things they both hear and see. This revealed that teacher-oriented education should be questioned. In teacher-oriented education, the teacher must dominate the subject and take the role of the narrator. On the other hand, students learn some of the things the teacher tells, and they forget most of the information they learned in a short period of time. Modern education experts have used expressions that would end the term ‘teacher’ and said: “The term teacher is now a thing of the past; we should use the term educator now. Educators should not be people who teach, they should only guide. That is, they should guide the student how to catch fish instead of giving them fish.
“With this success-oriented method, the student preparing the subject comes to the lesson, takes an active role during lesson, and the teacher only guides. The task of correcting the wrong information that the student will say while actively participating in the lesson belongs to the teacher, and the students can preserve their knowledge for a long time with this method, which is like a dictation study. With this method, an active thinking structure develops thanks to the brainstorms that the students have during the lesson, and this creates productive individuals. Different tactics can be applied in student-oriented education, but the best among these tactics is the cooperative learning method. Students are still preparing for the lesson, but during this preparation process, they make their preparations in groups and help each other. Students participating in the lesson present their presentations to their classmates, while brainstorming with them. The teacher, on the other hand, only guides, but the learning outcome is huge. Many more tactics can be used in the student-oriented slope. The important thing is to ensure that students grow up without eroding their self-confidence. Sturdy thoughts require sturdy knowledge. To achieve that, individuals who are learning and not memorizing should be brought up. Maybe you are a student right now, maybe an adult… Still, remember that it's never too late for anything. If you actively acquire knowledge, not just by seeing, not just by hearing, you will see that there is no reason for you not to be successful.
