‘Teachers love life when they love their profession.’ (1)
The generalization above applies to all professions but particularly to the teaching profession.
A successful teacher does his/her job well and enjoys life. So, what should be done to become a successful teacher? Let’s take this into articles:
1- Reaching the students’ level: One of the most obvious qualities found in a successful teacher is being successful in reaching students’ levels. Although this is based on some experience, an idealistic teacher who has just started a job may also succeed.
2-Follow up the new studies: A successful teacher follows the new studies in the training and adapts himself/herself to the current conditions. The teacher uses a variety of sources.
3- Having good communication skills: When it comes to communication, the teacher develops new ideas and adapts to different ones. The teacher is aware of the importance of communication with children in the classroom. That makes the teacher a successful teacher.
4-Possessing the required documents: The teacher has the documents relevant to the subject covered in the course. The teacher should have studied these documents before starting the lesson and got prepared. This is a must for successful teachers.
5 - Being organized: The teacher acts in a plan regarding the lessons he/she has studied, both in a general framework and in a special framework. This planning is very important to enjoy the satisfaction of finishing topics on time.
6- Being fair: Teachers who are fair towards students in the classroom are successful both humanly and ethically. Teachers should be able to fine or reward students if necessary.
7- Using technology: Nowadays the technology advances rapidly. A student watching television at home will not be able to fully develop the process unless they perceive a more advanced technical concept at school. An idealistic teacher will create the necessary conditions and achieve success.
8- Cooperation with parents: The most important reasons for students' achievements or failures include their experiences within the family. A teacher collaborating with parents can prevent negative behavior or reinforce positive behavior. And this is the key to success.
9- Cooperation with the school administration: Handling the situations of the students with the school administration and making joint decisions will impact success positively.
10- Co-operation with other teachers: Collaborating with other teachers will have a positive impact on success. A teacher may have more experience in one subject than another teacher. This demonstrates the importance of cooperation better.
